Bayern Munich signed young American midfielder Taylor Booth.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who had been playing at Real Salt Lake’s academy, signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Munich club and is set to play for the U-19 team.

Booth became Bayern’s second newcomer from the US this month. Munich signed 18-year-old defender Chris Richards from FC Dallas earlier.

That transfer became another one example of a young American player’s successful move to Bundesliga. Christian Pulisic, who will leave the Bundesliga and go to Chelsea in the coming summer, began this tradition and his success made the German clubs pay closer attention to the MLS.
