Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez agreed on a personal contract with Bayern Munich.

Bayern are ready to pay Atletico’s defender release clause, so the future of the Frenchman will be in his own hands.

According to El Pais, the Munich club agreed on a personal contract with the 22-year-old Frenchman. Hernandez will sign an agreement for four years with a salary of €8.5 million per season.

Atletico cannot offer such a salary to Lucas since Los Colchoneros extended the agreement with Antoine Griezmann, and the salary limit in LaLiga is €293 million. Atletico are as close as possible to this mark.

The club’s leaders understand that Hernandez will leave the team, but they are trying to do everything to ensure that this doesn’t happen before the summer of 2019.

Hernandez did not manage to distinguish himself with any productive actions in 10 matches for Atletico in the current season of LaLiga.
