Barcelona decided to give up the idea of signing de Ligt because of the actions of his agent – Mino Raiola.

Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt will probably not move to Barcelona next summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club decided to withdraw from the fight for the 19-year-old football player because of the actions of Mino Raiola. According to the publication, he set up an auction in which the winner would be the club that would offer de Ligt the highest salary.

At Barcelona, they are ready to sign the defender only if he agrees for the same salary as midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is also in the Blaugranas’ interests, as his Ajax partner.

Earlier it was reported that Juventus, Bayern and several other European clubs were also hunting for de Ligt. In addition, there is an information in the media, according to which he wants to pursue a career in the same team with de Jong as they are friends since childhood.
