96 708 fans came to see the recent defeat of Solskjær’s squad. According to AS, the fans helped to beat the previous record, dated October 28, 2018 – 93,265 spectators visited Real Madrid clash at Camp Nou.

United helped to set a new attendance record in the current season – 96,708 fans came to the return duel with the Red Devils, among whom more than 4 000 spectators flew from Manchester.

LaLiga match with Espanyol closes the top three record matches for the Catalan stadium this season – 92,795 fans.

Recall, Lionel Messi produced another amazing UCL performance to knock United out and fire the Catalans into the semi-finals for the first time in 4 years, scoring twice in a 3-0 home win.
