Atletico extended cooperation with Diego Simeone until 2022. But now some of the terms of the agreement between the club and the mentor were revealed.

One of them was the extension of Jan Oblak’s contract – a fundamental performer for Simeone. The player around whom the coach will build a long-term project.

It is reported that Oblak was busy with playing games, but the player’s agent played his part and secured the signing of a new contract on more favorable terms for the Slovenian.

In particular, the keeper’s salary will be from 10 to 12 million euros per season. The amount of compensation will increase from 100 to 150-200 million euros.

Diego Simeone, as reported by AS, put forward a condition for extending the current contract with the goalkeeper for the sake of long-term prospects.

It is noted that the coach is going to look for new defenders to replace Diego Godin, who is close to moving to Inter, and Filipe Luís.

The club will officially announce about the new deal with Jan Oblak next week.
