Arsenal will give Emery £40 million for summer transfers
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery will receive money to strengthen the team’s composition in the coming summer – but only £40 million.
Arsenal managed to loan Barcelona’s midfielder Denis Suarez in the winter transfer window, but Emery promised that the situation would change at the end of the season and he could spend money.
According to the Daily Mail, Emery will receive £40 million for transfers. Moreover, the Gunners will immediately give Barcelona half of this amount, if they decide to buy Suarez out after the current loan agreement.
Such serious financial restrictions were explained by costly transfers that Arsenal carried out in the past, and the club’s tremendous salary list. Mesut Ozil alone is receiving £350,000 a week. In addition, the Gunners have not played in the Champions League for two seasons so far.
