The opportunity to buy out Barcelona’s midfielder Denis Suarez for just £14 million was offered to Arsenal.

Suarez, who spent two years at Manchester City as a junior, doesn’t play at Camp Nou in this season and wants to quickly correct his situation with a transfer to another club.

As it became known to The Independent, Barcelona’s leadership privately informed the entourage of Denis that they wouldn’t interfere with the departure of the 24-year-old Spaniard in the winter transfer window.

Without losing time in vain, Suarez representatives contacted with Arsenal and offered the services of their client. The Gunners are slowly looking for a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who will leave Emirates at the end of the season as a free agent, so this step is justified.

The 24-year-old Spaniard spent one season with Unai Emery at Sevilla on loan earlier in his career, so Arsenal’s head coach is well aware of his compatriot’s possibilities. Unai must decide now whether Suarez is worth £14 million.

However, Arsenal need to act quickly, because some other clubs may be interested in Denis’ availability for transfer, including Chelsea.
