Arsenal lost Bellerin for several weeks

Arsenal’s right-back Hector Bellerin will miss several weeks with a bruised leg after the lost match against Southampton (3:2).

On the eve of the departure to Saint Mary’s, the Gunners’ head coach faced enormous problems with the composition in the defensive line and was forced to make a pair of central defenders from Laurent Koscielny and Stephan Lichtsteiner on Sunday.

The Frenchman, who didn’t play from May, had no time to play close with his opponent in all three moments with conceded goals, and lost the 2nd-floor fight to Danny Ings twice and Charlie Austin at the end of the match. Lichtsteiner also looked awful in the centre-back position.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi will return after their disqualifications for next match, and Sead Kolasinac has already healed his injury, but the situation remains tense because right-back Hector Bellerin is injured now.

The defender was injured in the first half already but insisted on continuing the game. As a result, he asked for a replacement during the break and will miss at least 2 weeks.
