Albiol might no longer play in this season due to injury
Napoli defender Raul Albiol may no longer play in this season due to a knee injury.
The problem with the knee, which has long been bothering Raul Albiol, forced Napoli’s defender to turn to a specialist, and it turned out that the footballer needed a special therapy.
According to Corriere della Sera, Albiol visited Dr. Angel Ruiz Cotorro in Barcelona a few days ago. Cotorro is a specialist who saved the world tennis star, Rafael Nadal, from a similar problem.
The question of when Raul will begin the therapy has not yet been finally resolved. However, according to the publication, this will happen soon.
The 33-year-old Spaniard, who played 33 matches in all tournaments for Napoli in the current season, won’t go to Florence for the match against Fiorentina. Unfortunately, Albiol’s therapy isn’t limited to one game and the player may not be able to play for Napoli in this season anymore.
The Spain international (52 matches) played for Valencia (163 matches, 7 goals in all tournaments), Getafe (19, 1) and Real Madrid (118, 2) before. He is a Napoli player since 2013 (232, 6).
