Ajax’s de Jong and de Ligt want to continue their careers in one team
Amsterdam Ajax footballers Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt intend to continue their careers in one team, reports RMC Sport.
Players who have known each other since childhood don’t want to part. They are going to continue to play together in one team if it is possible. Top European clubs will fight for both players next summer. Such clubs as Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the services of both.
It was reported earlier that Ajax intend to gain about € 140 million from the sale of talented players, € 75 million – for de Jong, and the rest € 60-65 million – for de Ligt. Also there was information in the media that Barcelona, which were considered the favorite in the fight for both footballers for some time, ran the risk of encountering problems in the negotiations because players would want to receive a very huge salary.
Nevertheless, according to experts, both players are worth the money paid. And if the players aren’t persistent in their desire to play together, then Matthijs will most likely move to Barcelona, with Frenkie will join Manchester City.
