Ajax set a new achievement in the 21st century. Erik ten Hag’s squad gained a strong-willed victory over Juventus (1:2) in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals that helped the Amsterdam side to reach the tournament semi-finals.

It is noteworthy that the last time the Netherlands club reached this stage was in 1997, then Ajax beat Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals stage. By the way, Ajax lost to the Old Lady in the semi-finals that year.

Moreover, another record was reached in this match. Amsterdam’s captain Matthijs de Ligt became the youngest Dutch player to score in the Champions League playoffs in the 21st century.

Recall that Ajax’s rival in the semifinals will be Manchester City or Tottenham.
