Aguero is threatened with injury

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola said that his striker Sergio Aguero threatened to spend the rest of the calendar year at the hospital.

Recall Aguero unexpectedly left out of the Citizens’ application for the winning match against Bournemouth on Saturday (3:1). That wasn’t the result of an injury, but some discomfort that the Argentine scorer felt during the training.

Now Sergio has to do fitness test before the match against Watford on Tuesday, but Guardiola knows in advance that he may lose his leading player for several weeks if he and the doctors do not correctly assess the risks.

Pep said that Sergio felt a little discomfort after his team returned from Lyon. The doctors said that he shouldn’t play against Bournemouth as there was a big risk to aggravate the situation.

Guardiola understands that it is extremely unwise to risk the player’s health on the threshold of such a difficult and eventful month as December. Man City will have to play a lot of matches, and Pep needs all the depth of the roster he has.
